Læringsmål:To provide an overview and analysis of the significant EU and international legal issues concerning online contracting; to enable the students to recognize and deal with these issues when confronted with them. 
Fagligt indhold:The course proceeds from an appreciation of the fact that the Internet is global and that online contracting, therefore, has an international dimension. Accordingly, the course will identify the specific legal problems which arise in connection with online contracting and which have an international dimension.
The course will be organized around consideration of specific legal issues regarding the negotiation and conclusion of contracts via the Internet. The issues to be considered will fall generally under the following headings:


--jurisdiction and choice of law

--international business to business sale of goods

--contracts for sale/licensing of digital information

--Internet services and access contracts

--consumer contracts

--digital signature and security issues

The course will examine these subjects in light of international, EU, and U.S. law, including the Brussels Convention on Jurisdiction, EC Directives on e-commerce and digital signature, the Convention on the International Sale of Goods, and U.S. constitutional law and court practice regarding jurisdiction and choice of law.
