Formelle forudsætninger:This course is the second part of the specialization 'Service Design'.

In order to participate in this course you must have attended the first part of the specialization in Service Design (Introduction to Service Design).

Students are required to read and speak English due to English literature used in the course and most teaching will be done in English. 
Læringsmål:By the end of this course, you must be able to present that you can:

A. Apply design methods in order to create valuable service applications and solutions;

B. Reflect and critically assess the field of Service Design;

C. Reflect and discuss topics from fields closely related to service design (e.g. HCI, design methods and CSCW) and their impact on service design work;

D. Critically analyse products, projects and services within the field;

E. Develop and present project using the design methods and theory learned throughout the course

F. Reflect on Service Design processes with the support of the literature seen in the course. 
Fagligt indhold:Please note, that due to technical challenges, changes may occur before the start of the semester (week 35) – this applies to all sections of the course description.

A mix on theory and a hands-on approach to service design. The course will allow the students to discuss and apply design methods and a broad set of theory in order to both design and evaluate services. The course is case based, meaning the students are expected to develop and showcase distinct projects throughout the semester in order to deepen their knowledge of the discipline. A range of theoretical concepts will be introduced and the student is expected to use and reflect on the presented theory during class and in their project cases. 
Læringsaktiviteter:

12,5 weeks of teaching consisting of lectures, exercises, project work and supervision. It is expected that the students participate actively in the classes, projects and group work carried out throughout the course. The course also has a blog, which is used as a place for discussion and opportunity for sharing relevant content related to the class. 

Obligatoriske aktivititer:There will be two mandatory group hand-ins. The two hand-ins will report on two projects carried out by the students during the semester.
The written assignments (i.e. the formal hand-ins) will be 5-6 pages following a template provided by the teacher. The students are also requested to give a brief presentation during class related to each of their two projects. The two mandatory hand-ins will provide input for the final oral course exam.

The grade assessment has two parts (two graded hand-in assignments and the oral exam), a single grade is given based on the combined overall performance of the student. The hand-ins accounts for 30% of the grade.
The duration of the oral examination is max 20 minutes per examinee (incl. any group presentation and grade assessment).  

Litteratur udover forskningsartikler:Main source of literature will be articles. However, as background literature, the following book will be used;
