Bachelor Global Business Informatics
Læringsmål:After the course you must be able to:
1. describe the user's tasks in a systematic way,
2. explain what usability is and how it can be measured,
3. explain how cognitive aspects such as gestalts and mental models influence the user's perception of the system,
4. create a data model that covers the system needs,
5. design a user interface in a systematic way based on tasks and data model,
6. test the usability, report the issues that are found, and propose improvements,
7. explain how all of this relates to various system development approaches.
Fagligt indhold:The goal of this course is to bridge the gap between usability, business, programming and project management. The course makes you able to design user interfaces in a systematic way. You must consider the user's needs, business processes, the data to be handled, psychology, the IT platform, and coordination with other development activities.

The user interface is the part of an IT-system that the ordinary user sees. It includes screens, buttons, links and what they do when clicked. During the course you design several user interfaces and at the exam you design one too.

Designing the user interface is a critical part of developing a system. It is the link between business perspectives, programming, and project management. To design a user interface you must master several techniques and concepts including:

Usability testing, prototyping, data modelling, data presentation, virtual windows, gestalt laws, task description, state-transition diagram, and defect management.
