• Identify and define own disciplinary approaches and communicate these to other students.
• Identify and formulate the problem in a real case in collaboration with a group and based on this, combine and exploit the different disciplinary approaches in order to work with it.
• Integrate contributions from own and other disciplines in the group work with a case.
• Collaborate constructively with students from other disciplines on a project.
• Communicate the results of a cross-disciplinary academic work to both practitioners and academics.
• Critically reflect on the opportunities and challenges of cross-disciplinary work, theoretically, methodologically and in practice.
Fagligt indhold:In this course, the students will learn about theory, research methods, and technical knowledge with regards to cross-disciplinary teamwork. They will apply this knowledge in the context of active research projects across the research departments at ITU. Based on an introduction to cross-disciplinary teamwork in theory and practice and on introductions from external partners, students will engage with students from other disciplines in projects, that are defined and supervised by teachers from the involved study programmes.

The aim of this course is to give the students the possibility to obtain insights in other disciplines, work across disciplines and reflect upon how cross-disciplinarity may be beneficial for innovative solutions in theory and practice. Working in cross-disciplinary teams means being able to communicate knowledge of the own discipline to team members from other disciplines and create a space to understand, integrate and accept contributions from other disciplines. The course holds a triple purpose for the students:

1) To let students develop a consciousness of their own professional competences and where and how they can use their competences on the labour market.
2) To let students gain experience with real-world project work and to exploit own competences while integrating others’.
3) To reflect upon and develop new ways of thinking and working with IT related questions from different perspectives.
Læringsaktiviteter:14 ugers undervisning bestående af forelæsninger, øvelser og vejledning

Students can choose between 4 different projects. To ensure cross-disciplinarity, there must be students from at least 3 different disciplines in each project. Each project is supervised by a staff member from one of the study programmes. Learning activities include:

(1) Project work
(2) Presentations (internal and towards external stakeholders)
(3) Write a reflective, critical report

Obligatoriske aktivititer:Keep a project journal throughout the semester (base the report on it); do a mid-semester project presentation.
