This course focuses on digital process innovation as a way to harness the potential of digital technologies to redesign organisational work processes and reconfigure internal and external resources to sense and respond to new opportunities and challenges.

The course will cover:
• The fundamentals of process-oriented management (e.g., lifecycle and maturity models)
• Theories, frameworks, and methods for both continuous and radical process innovation (e.g., ambidextrous organisational design)
• How digital technologies (e.g., Internet of Things, blockchain, artificial intelligence) can support continuous and radical process innovation
Læringsaktiviteter:

14 weeks of teaching consisting of lectures and occasional exercises

12 sessions consisting of lectures, workshops and exercises

We will mix traditional lectures with guest lectures, case-based presentations, theory workshops and exercises. We will also carry out workshops in which the students work with a common live case (a firm, a government agency or a not for profit organization visiting ITU). Facilitation for the case work will be provided.

Obligatoriske aktivititer:4 Mandatory Activities (MAs) consisting of a group work part (related to the case study) and an individual part (related to the compendium).

The MAs will be submitted via PeerGrade and graded ( “approved” or “not approved”). Groups need to peer review each other’s MAs and get approved by a teacher in order to have an MA approved. In addition to the peer review, the student will receive a short feedback from the Teaching Team on their MA.

All MAs need to be approved in order to take the exam. If one MA is not approved, the student has one second attempt to resubmit the MA within one week.
