OBS: der er kursusspærring mellem dette kursus og kurserne "Introduction to Service Design" og "Service Design" på Digital Kommunikation og Design. Studerende, der har taget disse kurser tidligere, kan ikke tage Service Design: Theory and Practice på master i it, Interaktionsdesign 
Læringsmål:By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- recognize essential characteristics of services,
- identify and analyze elements of service ecosystems and their interaction with each other,
- assess social, technological and business contexts of service ecosystems,
- use appropriate research methods when doing user research at various touchpoints and throughout the service,
- identify service innovation opportunities,
- develop service concepts, use scenarios, service architecture, and blueprints,
- develop quick service prototypes,
- communicate your analyses and new service designs articulately and persuasively in multimodal texts. 
Fagligt indhold:This course introduces you to the theories and methods of service design. Through lectures, case studies and workshops, the course presents conceptual and operational tools for analyzing or improving existing service ecosystems as well as developing new services. You will explore topics central to service design such as technological contexts of services, service strategy, journey mapping, user experience assessment for services, touch-point analysis and design, service interaction, front- and back-stage design, development of service blueprints, service prototyping, service co-creation, change management and service implementation.

This course is designed for IT practitioners, interaction designers and others preparing for the role of designing and executing services or products that are part of larger systems. 
Læringsaktiviteter:

The course consists of lectures, workshops and independent group work. The lectures and workshops will take place on April 25-26 and May 30-31 from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. You are required to work in groups outside the scheduled lecture days and meet the course instructor. For further details, see your syllabus in LearnIT.

Be aware: The student will receive the grade NA (not approved) at the ordinary exam, if the mandatory activities are not approved and the student will use an exam attempt.
