Formelle forudsætninger: | Introduction to Multimedia Systems or one of the following: Computer Graphics or Introduction
to Signal Processing or Image Processing; or courses equivalent to these. |
Læringsmål: | Computer animation is becoming a basic part of video technology ranging from cartoons over sur-realistic movies to video conferencing. Animations are often based on studies of physical systems, such as the time varying
positions of the legs of a horse, the mechanical freedoms of dinosaur skeleton structure, the motion of burning particles in a flame etc.
It is the objectives of the course to study basic mathematical properties of animation and continue into the application of high level graphical tools for the realization of animations.
|
Fagligt indhold: | In this course, the students will learn a number of basic building blocks of physical animation starting with no physical restrictions (Procedural Animation),
over rigid mechanical constraints (Forward and Inverse Kinematical Animation), and ending with complex dynamical systems (Dynamical Animation). We will begin using Matlab to study basic mathematical properties, and continue with
MAXScript and SDK in 3DStudioMAX to study high-level graphical realisations of complex animations. The course will be a joint course between ITU and DIKU.
