Læringsmål: | The objectives are to introduce the students to the fundamental concepts necessary to understand and to develop elements for multimedia systems, which use sound, image, and tactile input/output in the human/system interface. The signal processing concepts are emphasized in relation to applications in speech and basic sound generation. |
Fagligt indhold: | Fundamental concepts of analog signals, analog-to-digital conversion, digital-to-analog conversion, time discrete signals, digital signal processing systems, analysis and synthesis of discrete time low/high/bandpass filters, auto- and cross-correlation between signals, spectral analysis by the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and the fast Fourier transform (FFT), stochastic signals and the Wiener filter. |
Læringsaktiviteter: | Lectures, problem classes, hands-on computer exercises. |
Eksamensform og -beskrivelse: | X. experimental examination form (7-scale; external exam), 13-skala, Intern censur Oral examination with initial 0.5 hour preparation based on the course materials.
