During the course the students will develop one or more applications on one or more of the development platforms introduced in the course. The course will start with a 3 week period with introductory lectures and exercises on context from different perspectives. In parallel, the students are introduced to the different platforms offered. The is followed by a 9 week application development project where the students work in groups with developing a mobile application, with a particular focus on the role of context, and how contextual information can be applied in design and use. Contextual information can include material context, like position information or various sensors, but it can also cover social and cultural aspects of context. The 9 week development project includes two intermediary project presentations, and concludes with a final presentation, where a mobile application should be demonstrated.
Group report (15 – 20 pages) documenting the application design project. Harvard system is used for referencing. Group presentation of the application design project, including demonstration of the application. The duration of the oral exam is 20 minutes pr. student including evaluation and feedback.
