IT has for a number of years been seen as the most potent driver of value creation in companies, particular when it comes to reengineering and facilitation of improvements in business processes. Since the advent of the Internet, the World Wide Web, wireless technologies, and the plethora of other technologies related to these technological innovations, we are seeing a dramatic shift in the way in which companies chose to organize and collaborate. E-business is one of the terms most frequently used to identify these changes, but the concept of e-business is becoming almost redundant, since all business turns into ‘e-business’.
The course will provide an introduction to e-business, dealing with the way in which IT can be used to support, transform or be the sole basis for a viable business - through better knowledge about customer needs, customization of services, new services, trends and emerging tools, supplier offerings, and collaboration with business partners. This will be done by giving an introduction to e-business concepts, including strategic use, models and processes, methods and technological tools.

The course will demonstrate how these e-business concepts is contributing to elimination of internal and external coordination problems, helping companies to adapt to changes, offer better products and services to customers etc. - and make the student able to analyze how companies can utilize e-business and manage e-business.
