Fagligt indhold:Introduction to Entrepreneurship - Recognizing Opportunities and taking them to the market.
A common definition of innovation is taking an idea to the market. This course provides an introductory overview of the necessary activities and analysis, and the challenges that need to be addressed in order to assess the business value of an idea and take it to market.

As the course provides only an introductory overview, it will not in itself give sufficient basis for taking a business idea to market successfully. Students having a business idea they might wish to commercialize are invited to explore and develop their business idea in their bachelor thesis, drawing on the methods and models introduced in this course.

The topics covered are:
• Introduction to Entrepreneurship
• Recognizing Opportunities and Generating Ideas
• Feasibility Analysis
• Writing a Business Plan
• Industry and Competitor Analysis
• Developing an Effective Business Model
• Preparing the Proper Ethical and Legal Foundation
• The Importance of Intellectual Property
• Assessing a New Venture’s Financial Strength and Viability
• Building a New-Venture Team
• Getting Financing or Funding
• Unique Marketing Issues
• Preparing for and Evaluating the Challenges of Growth and strategies for growth.

Undervisningen foregår på dansk.

The course consists of 12 weeks with lectures and exercises/case work/group presentations. Two of the group presentation days are mandatory. After the third lecture each group selects a case to work with. The case should be a concept or a new business idea which is analyzed for feasibility and worked on throughout the course, leading to a complete outline business and implementation plan, which is presented at the exam with a recommendation on how to proceed with the idea and bring it to market, covering all the learning goals listed above.
Each group presents their findings at the last lecture and receives feedback. Based on the feedback groups update and hand in their final report

Lectures are based on dialogue; Students are expected to participate actively and discuss ideas and concepts debated during the lectures.
