Læringsmål:To provide an overview and analysis of the significant EU and international legal issues concerning e-commerce. 
Fagligt indhold:To enable the students to recognize and deal with legal issues treated by EU and other international law which arise in the course of negotiating and concluding contracts on the internet.
The course will be organized around consideration of the following specific legal issues regarding the negotiating and conclusion of contracts via the internet. The issues to be considered will fall generally under the following headings:

--formation of electronic contracts

--digital signatures

--distance selling

--intellectual property issues

--invitations to submit tenders in connection with the EU rules on public procurement

--conflict of laws and jurisdiction

--online payment

The course will examine these subjects in light of EU policy and regulation. In particular, the EC Commission's proposals for a directive on digital signatures and for a framework directive for electronic commerce will be discussed and analyzed, as well as other relevant EU regulations and policy documents. In addition, to provide a global context, the course will include an overview of regulation of e-commerce in the U.S. and various international fora for regulation, such as UNCITRAL, OECD, and the WTO.
