The student should be able to :

  • perform basic digital image editing tasks such as cropping, resizing and compressing images.

  • describe how to examine, describe and rework a basic (static) website.

  • explain the structure and content of a document in any markup language (for example any version of HTML)

  • use remote and local file systems


Beyond basic knowledge of a markup, it is not required that students have programming experience, but students with no programming experience should be prepared to make an extra effort.

Dette kursus kan vælges som obligatorisk på masteruddannelsen i Interaktionsdesign og multimedier. 
Læringsmål:After completing the course the student should be able to:

  • originate and synthesise combinations of media to fit a given context

  • use appropriate tools to create an interactive multimedia production for the web, or specialised multimedia device such as a tablet

  • reflect on the suitability of interactive multimedia may be for a given communication task

 
Fagligt indhold:The course takes a multi-disciplinary approach to the design and development of interactive multimedia products.

Here are the titles of each of the 14 sessions [subject to change]:

1. The 'stuff'of multimedia: Files, formats, data and compression. Variety, aliasing, redundancy.
2. Introduction to javaScript: Interaction and feedback. Constraints.
3. Alive, or automaton? Animation and the illusion of being 'responsive'
4. Manifesting Mental Models: How does the multimedia developer team communicate with itself?
5. Multimedia Objects: Data structures, properties and methods. javaScript's weird and beautiful OOP model
6. The working loop: Hierarchies of iteration. Agile methods. Calibration and correction.
7. Project: First Deliverable. (+ Coaching)
8. Testing: Science, knowledge, debugging, user tests, and quantitative methods.
9. Conversation with the User: Interactive multimedia as a search for meaning and value
10. Pictures which draw themselves: Canvas, SVG, generative processes and emergence
11. Cues and triggers: Video, sound and synchronisation.
12. Your stupid slave: Automation and authoring tools. Final Project begins (+ Coaching)
13. Project: Development from alpha to beta. (+ Coaching)
14. Project: The Prototype (+ Coaching)

The common features of all digital media will be stressed, so that a greater synthesis can be made. 
Læringsaktiviteter:14 ugers undervisning bestående af forelæsninger og øvelser

14 weeks of teaching consisting of lectures and exercises
Lectures and exercises, reading, and 2 compulsory assignments.
The lecture and exercise period is mixed.

Der er mulighed for øvelseshold og eksamen på både dansk og engelsk.

Bemærk at dette kursus hidtil har været udbudt som Multimedieproduktion på internet - de to kurser er identiske og spærrer dermed for hinanden. Det vil sige, at du ikke kan tage dette kursus, hvis du har taget Multimedieproduktion på internet.

NB!! Course restriction!!
Please note that this course used to be offered with the title Multimedia Production for the Internet - these two courses are identical and hereby block each other. That means that you cannot take this course, if you have already taken Multimedia Production for the Internet. 

Obligatoriske aktivititer:During this course students will be required to hand in mandatory assignments (e.g. attendance, papers, exercises, presentations, productions), that need to be completed/approved before being eligible to register for the examination and e.g. being allowed to submit written work for examination. Failure to hand in these mandatory assignments on time will mean that the registration for examination is annulled.
