Formelle forudsætninger:	Aquaintance with basic Internet technologies such as TCP / IP, HTTP, HTML, XML, browsers, CGI, ASP/PHP, search engines, etc. Advanced Internet technologies such as Java applets and servlets, cascading style sheets, DHTML, Active-X, WAP, etc. Applications of internet technologies for companies, public organisations and single users, running on fixed as well as mobile terminals. The Internet as a platform for CSCW and Groupware, and the issue of convergence of technologies.
Læringsmål:	All working professionally with telecommunications, including new Internet based services, need to know the economic and political fundamentals of the sector. How much will provision of a certain telecommunication service cost, and what are the key cost components within the network? How much should the consumer be charged for a new service? How is content provision regulated and how are the rules for interconnection? How are frequencies for mobile services administered?
Fagligt indhold:	The course deals with the economic conditions for production of telecommunication services. The theoretical problems related to cost analysis of production of telecommunication services such as mobile communication, Internet access and IP telephony. The course will present the basic cost elements in a telecommunications network, and introduce different approaches for activity based cost accounting. Techno-econnomic concepts such as marginal- and average costs are introduced and applied. The course will also introduce different principles for tariffing and their impact on consumer demands. In addition, the course will provide an overview on how the market for telecommunication services is regulated, including regulation of interconnection and frequencies, and rules for copyright of electronic information.

Eksamensform og -beskrivelse:	X. experimental examination form (7-scale; external exam), 13-skala, Intern censur Oral exam and approval of reports, graded by the danish 13-scale.
