Læringsmål:After the course, students should be able to:
- identify different shot-types and articulate their cinematic purpose

- apply principles of audio-visual editing

-organize and develop a moving image-based project (including sound)

-analyze formal properties of moving images

-critically discuss how different moving image genres construct emotion and meaning 
Fagligt indhold:This course provides an introduction to theory, analysis and production of moving image genres, ranging from feature films, short films, documentary, TV advertisements, music videos and cinematic poetry.
We will cover the fundamental aspects of pre-production (the planning of a shoot – scriptwriting, storyboarding, props, costumes), production (directing and working with actors, screen language, cinematography, lighting, sound recording) to post-production (editing, sound-mixing). 
Læringsaktiviteter:

The course will combine lectures on film theory and screen language with film screenings, and several short moving image productions.

Critical Analysis of three films, 800-1000 words each'. Ungraded, individual activity

Deadlines March 11, March 25, April 15. These deadlines must only be kept if the students want feed-back on their writing.
What if the student fails to pass a mandatory activity:

Be aware: The student will receive the grade NA (not approved) at the ordinary exam, if the mandatory activities are not approved and the student will use an exam attempt. 
Eksamensform og -beskrivelse:X. experimental examination form (7-scale; external exam)

Ca. 5 minute moving image production (in groups of 4-5), including script and storyboard, accompanied by an individual 1500-2000 words discussion.
