Due to the overlap with the previous Computer Vision course,it is not possible to register to Advanced Media Technology if you have attended the CV course.

Maths: Knowledge of basic vector calculus, matrices, differentiation and integration.
Programming: general programming skills

  • Simple data structures.
  • Ability to write programs.
  • Ability to assess correctness and efficiency of a program.
  • A structured approach to testing of small programs.
  • Matlab programming skills.

The purpose of this course is to introduce the students to important tools for the processing and analysis of 2D images, 3D images and image sequences.

The main topics of that course will be

  • Bayesian Inference and regularization with application to:

    • signal denoising
    • apparent motion computation

  • Cameras and projective geometry.
  • Bayesian Filtering:

    • Kalman filters and Particle filters with applications to Tracking

The course consists of lectures and programming exercises.
The lectures focuses on understanding the mathematical and
algorithmic concepts.

A total of 3-4 larger mandatory assignments will given for the exercises. Examples will be drawn for HCI, industrial applications and medical imaging.
The exercises focus on hands-on programming experience with image anaysis problems, through the larger assignments and aims towards
completing a set of common computer vision problems.
