Fagligt indhold:The overall academic and learning goals of the course are to enable the student to analyse, reflect on and manage an IS project in an organisational context. The organisation and management of an IS project is of growing importance for many organisations, whether in the private or public sector. Development and implementation for IS Projects go hand in hand and competent project management will be an important factor for the many types of tasks and areas in the companies. The key point is that different perspecitvies are important for the understanding of the IS project, the challenges and hence the type of management pursued.

The first part of the course introduces the students to the concepts, theories and prescriptions of how managers should practice project management and portfolio managment. The second part of the course shows how and why these concepts, theories and prescriptions usually fail in real life. New theoretisation based on what actually happen in practice is introduced and discussed.
