The project groups will be formed during the first week of the course. Students will be notified via e-mail prior to this event.

This is a mandatory backbone course for all SDT SE track students.


Information about the course of study
Development Technology track
This course is part of a specialization on the Master of Science in IT, study programme Software Development and Technology, Development Technology track.

Software Engineering track
This course is mandatory for students who are enrolled on the Software Engineering track. 
Læringsmål:Each project group should agree on a set of intended learning outcomes with their supervisor. (It is the responsibility of the supervisor to make sure that at least half of the learning outcomes correspond to the expectations of the partner universities abroad.) The intended learning outcomes should be stated in the project agreement in ITU's Project Base and in the handed in projects.


EXAMPLES of Intended Learning Outcomes:


After the course the student should be able to;

PRODUCT ILOs (70%):

  • DESIGN a system;
  • IMPLEMENT the designed system;
  • APPLY scientific methods and techniques;
  • EVALUATE the resulting system;
  • RELATE to existing systems, methods, and techniques;

PROCESS ILOs (30%):

  • DEVELOP and MAINTAIN a plan for the collaboration; and
  • REFLECT continually on the collaboration.

 
Fagligt indhold:This is a hands-on project (without lectures).

Students from the IT University of Copenhagen and and students from one or more partner universities abroad will work together on a large scale software project in a "global team", distributed geographically and culturally.

The students will engange in collaboration with students from Strathmore University in Kenya. The collaboration is centered around designing, implementing and evaluating a system which has a mobile component as well as a Raspberry Pi component. Among other things we will use a webcamera as a sensor. 
Læringsaktiviteter:

During the first week of the semester all students will meet and project groups will be formed.

During the semester, students will work on a distributed software development project together with students from one or more partner universities in self-organized teams.

Supervisors can choose to require that student teams organise a "release party" at the end of the semester to present the results of their work (possibly together with the students from the partner universities).
