Formelle forudsætninger:Students must have experience with and be comfortable with programming, and be capable of independently implementing algorithms from descriptions in pseudocode. This corresponds to at least having passed an intermediate-level programming course. The course will contain compulsory programming assignments.
High school level A (or equivalent) in mathematics is also required.
Læringsmål:After the course, the student should be able to:
• Implement interactive VR applications in the Unity game engine
• Create camera control systems in VR optimized for minimal motion sickness (VR sickness)
• Optimize performance bottlenecks to ensure high repaint rate using CPU/GPU code, optimized memory layout,
• Describe theory of stereoscopic perception and imaging
• Design and implement good interaction design for a VR project
• Design applications for virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality
Fagligt indhold:In this course, students learn to design and implement at VR/AR application. Starting from learning the basics of stereoscopic perception and imaging, the course teaches how to create camera controls, interaction design, and optimized code for virtual reality content.

The students will create one full VR exam-project and document this in a written report.
Læringsaktiviteter:14 ugers undervisning bestående af forelæsninger, øvelser og vejledning

14 weeks of teaching consisting of lectures, exercises and supervision
Students are responsible for attending weekly lectures and then working in their groups independently, yet supervised, on their VR project.

Obligatoriske aktivititer:During the semester the student must hand-in and have approved one VR game exercise solved individually.

Students must also hand-in a project description and a schedule with milestones of their exam project.

Finnaly, the students must hand-in a midway prototype of their exam project.

Hand-in deadlines are found in LearnIt.

Be aware: The student will receive the grade NA (not approved) at the ordinary exam, if the mandatory activities are not approved and the student will use an exam attempt
Eksamensform og -beskrivelse:D22: Aflevering med mundtlig eksamen suppleret af aflevering., (7-scale, external exam)

.D22: Hand-in with following oral exam supplemented by the hand-in
The duration of the oral exam is 20 minutes.

The final product for this course is a VR project and a written report.

The project will be graded in originality, design and production quality. These criteria will be based on goals mutually agreed between the course managers and the teams as part of the learning activities.

The oral exam consists of a presentation of the project, plus a description of the feasibility of the production. The exam will also cover the curriculum.

A group should consist of 2-3 people
