This course is required for all students enrolled in the Digital Design and Communication program. 
Læringsmål:By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• characterize and analyze the business environment of innovation,

• identify innovation opportunities;

• use appropriate innovation planning tools and frameworks;

• develop a strategic innovation plan, including a business model, that is thorough, persuasive and viable in terms of design, technology, profitability (or alternative measures of success) and adoption; and

• communicate analyses and innovations articulately, efficiently and persuasively. 
Fagligt indhold:This course introduces you to the theories and methods of innovation with specific emphasis on products, services and systems that relate to or involve digital technologies. Course themes include social, business, and technological contexts of innovation, types of innovation, identification of innovation opportunities, strategy and competitive analysis, business model development, marketing and management of innovation, and the role of design as an agent of social change. 
Læringsaktiviteter:14 ugers undervisning bestående af forelæsninger og øvelser

The course consists of 14 weeks of lectures and work sessions.

Lectures will be conducted primarily by the teacher, but will also involve student participation and student presentations. The exercise classes will involve working in small teams on toward to the final project report. 

Obligatoriske aktivititer:Students are required to submit mandatory assignments throughout the semester in order to be eligible for the final exam. There will be a total of 5 mandatory assignments (3 written assignments + 2 presentations). For further details (instructions, due dates, etc.), please consult the course syllabus.
