Læringsmål:The student must at the end of the course be able to:
• Explain the background and content of a number of key issues within the enterprise architecture discipline.
• Explain and compare key concepts in enterprise architecture, including the frameworks and artifacts, and their interdependencies.
• Assess architecture maturity, governance and strategy in a given case company.
• Search for scientific information, for example, scientific literature, reports, specifications, and use this information in relation to the written mini-project.

In connection with the mini-project, the student must either specifically analyze a case study / organization and provide suitable architecture requirements and principles, or analyze and evaluate a given enterprise-architecture-disciplinary issue.
Fagligt indhold:The course provides a basic introduction to enterprise architecture (business and IT architecture) based on internationally recognized models, methodologies and frameworks. Course learning objectives follow Carnegie Mellon University's Enterprise Architecture Knowledge and Skills Areas (levels 1.0 and 2.0).

This course highlights the overall enterprise architecture practice from strategic planning to the actual architectural work in the areas of business architecture, information architecture, solution architecture and technical architecture.

The interplay between architecture and process implementation and operational processes are outlined. Themes such as IT governance, performance management, benchmarking and ROI are treated based on an architecture perspective. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and key concepts such as web services and cloud computing are analysed at a strategic level. Course participants are also introduced to management of services and infrastructure, value-based development and business process management (BPM).

The course will include a range of cases including guest lectures.
Active participation throughout the course (classroom, group / miniproject) is strongly encouraged for optimal learning.
