Læringsmål: | After the course the student should be able to:
1) Describe concepts, frameworks and models covered in the course and explain how they are used to analyze and/or design business models
2) Apply concepts, frameworks and models covered in the course to a specific case in order to:
- Analyze how value is created, delivered and captured in the specific business model
- Analyze if/how the specific business model changed the organizational boundaries and/or created new partner networks
- Analyze if/how digital technologies created or enabled new possibilities for executing and governing inter-organizational transactions
3) Reflect on how current and prospective developments in the digital arena may provide opportunities for new business models |
Fagligt indhold: | Part of the specialisation Process Innovation and New Business Models
The course is designed to make students sense and understand how digital technologies create or enable radically new business models, new possibilities for executing and governing inter-organizational transactions, reshape organizational boundaries, and make new partner networks possible. Economic, social and cultural elements of business models will be covered. As a concept “Business model” is currently applied to companies as well as the public sector and non-profit organizations, and cases form all these areas will be included in the course. Case studies are an essential part of the course and may include business models like: Collective business models, Open business models, Cooperate-NGO collaboration, Social entrepreneurship, Government agencies and Bricks and clicks business models. |
Læringsaktiviteter: | 12 forelæsninger og 12 øvelsesgange Each week the students have 2 hours of lecture and 2 hours of exercises. Lectures will be a mix of regular lectures given by the course teachers, guest lectures and case based presentations held by the teachers. During exercises students will work with a TA and the time will be dedicated to working practically with exercises related to the topic in progress and preparing the readings for the next topic. |
Obligatoriske aktivititer: | The course have 4 mandatory exercises that support the students learning process. Deadlines for the mandatory exercises and the detailed requirements for each exercise will be presented at the introduction to the course and will be posted on the course blog. |
Eksamensform og -beskrivelse: | X. experimental examination form (7-scale; external exam), 7-trins-skala, Ekstern prøve D2G: Hand-in for groups with following oral exam supplemented by the hand-in
Duration of the oral exam will be 20 minutes per student incl. assessment and feedback.
