Physics: Sensing stimuli are physical observables: photons, air pressure variations, forces, etc. The course will provide only the very basic concepts necessary for understanding sensingstimuli.
Psychophysics: The human sensory system transforms the physical sensing stimuli into neuralactivity. In order to represent sensing stimuli digitally, the student must understand which ofthe physical properties are captured and transmitted to the brain by the human sensory system. The course will provide superficial knowledge of the human visual system and human auditorysystem.
Computer Science: The computer science part of the course, which is the bulk of the course, falls in 5 parts. <ol type=1>
Morning lectures and afternoon exercises with mandatory weekly reports.
Oral examination with preparation, and with access to the coursematerial and notes. It is allowed to bring one page A4 prepared during the preparation time, into theexamination room.Grading: 13 points grading.External Censor. The duration of the examination is approx. 30 minutes.Weekly exercises must be approved (pass/fail) prior to the oralexamination. If the subject of the 4 weeks project falls within the area of thiscourse, theexamination of the project and the course is combined.Separate grading for the course and the project.
