Classroom activities are centered around students working hands-on, fx with group discussions and exercises, presentations and creative practice (design and implementation of digital experiences). Lectures will be very short and punctuated by student activity Students are expected to take responsibility upon their own learning process, and are encouraged to keep a reflective journal. The preparations of the students will include reading, experiencing artworks and taking notes.
This course has a three parts assesment, the percentage indicates the way that each part is weighed towards the final mark: - participation in at least half of the creative workshops (10%) - a midterm individual theoretical/analytical essay (45%) - a final creative project that will be presented and documented at an exhibition (45%), individually or in groups. All students will be able to follow their individual progress inside LearnIt, where we will publish a list of the attended creative workshops, as well as grades for both the theoretical essay and the creative project. If students are not attending the ordinary exam, the re-exam will have another form. The re-exam is a written examination on premises. It will last for a maximum of 3 hours. Students can bring their notes, books and other materials to the classroom. Examples of questions are: a reflection about one of the different practical design exercises we will have done throughout the semester, an analysis of an artwork or a theoretical argument about a topic we have discussed in class. The exam is individual, and in English.
